Self-Care Tips for Busy Stay-at-Home Moms

Today I finally feel like I’ve got everything under control. 😂🤣 It was such a busy summer!

And I thought, “As soon as the kids go back to school…”

Do you ever do that?!?

I thought I was going to get all.this.stuff.done. as soon as the kids went back to school.

But truth be told, September was one of the busiest months yet!! 😬 Two kids that needed cavities filled, two kids doctoring with specialists for certain things, two kids looking for houses, and one deciding to fly out to Oregon to meet a girl he’s been talking to online! 😱 (And I only have six kids! 😆)

The stress of it all!

Not to mention work just got very busy for me. 😁 Which is good!

When you make your clients happy, they give you more work. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😂🤣

Being a stay-at-home mom is one of the most rewarding – and most challenging – roles a woman can ever take on.

Just this morning I sent my mom and sister a snap of my calendar with the caption, “And people always ask me what I do all day…” 😆

You may not have a 9 to 5 job, momma, but the responsibility of taking care of your children and managing your home is a job that’s never done.

It’s easy to get caught up in the endless cycle of laundry (speaking of which, I got it done just in time – my kids made it yet another week without having to go naked!! 😅), meal planning, and playdates that we forget to take care of ourselves.

So, as I sat on the deck this afternoon eating my lunch and enjoying those gorgeous fall colors, I finally felt like I was in control again. Ahhhh…..

And it hit me – it’s because I made myself go for a run.

Er…. I mean my dog made me go for a run. Seriously. 🤣😂 She gets very naughty if we haven’t ran in a while.

And we haven’t ran in a while. I’ve been too busy!!

But when I run, I always feel so.much.better. More in control. More content.

And eager to just sit back and enjoy life.

It must be those endorphins that are released during a run. 😁

So, as this all hit home, I realized I should quick visit with you and just remind you how important it is for you to take care of yourself, momma!!

Because I keep thinking to myself, “I just have to get through canning season… and then things will slow down.”

But that’s not true. Because then it will be Christmas baking and shopping season!! 😱

Things are NEVER going to slow down, momma. So let’s talk about some self-care tips that busy stay-at-home moms can use to feel more energized, refreshed, and ready to tackle their daily routine!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Make Time for Exercise

Obviously numeral uno on my list!

One of the best ways to take care of yourself as a stay-at-home mom is to make time for regular exercise. When you’re constantly chasing after your kids, it’s easy to overlook your own physical well-being.

You don’t have to go to the gym to get a workout – try going for a jog or a walk in the park or take some yoga classes online.

Exercise can boost your mood, reduce stress, and give you more energy to tackle your daily tasks.

Take Breaks

When you’re a stay-at-home mom, it’s easy to go from task to task without taking a break.

However, it’s important to remember that you need to take care of yourself too. Take regular breaks throughout the day to relax, read a book, or take a quick nap.

If your kids are napping, use that time to recharge your own batteries.

Connect with Other Moms

Being a stay-at-home mom can be lonely at times, but it doesn’t have to be. Connect with other moms in your area, either in person or online. Join a mom’s group or start one of your own. Having a support system of other moms who understand what you’re going through can be incredibly helpful, and it can help you feel less isolated.

Treat Yourself

Just because you’re a stay-at-home mom doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in a little treat now and then. Whether it’s a bubble bath, a massage, or a night out with your friends, make sure to schedule some time for self-care. You deserve it!

Don’t Feel Guilty!!

Perhaps the most important self-care tip for stay-at-home moms is to not feel guilty about taking care of yourself. Remember that you’re not neglecting your responsibilities as a mother or wife by taking a few hours for yourself.

In fact, you’ll be better equipped to handle your daily tasks if you take the time to recharge your own batteries.

Being a stay-at-home mom can be challenging, but it’s important to remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of your family.

It doesn’t have to be a four-mile run with your dog, momma. 😉 It can be anything that fills your cup.

Try adding a couple of the self-care tips mentioned above into your daily routine.

You just might find that you feel more energized, refreshed, and ready to tackle your daily tasks – and have enough energy to make it through the upcoming holiday season! 😂🤣

Remember, even small changes in your routine can make a big difference!

You got this momma!

Now go take care of YOU!!
