Mom's Sugar Cookies

My all-time favorite sugar cookie recipe! These sugar cookies are soft, yet crunchy. And they have a yummy almond frosting.

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar

For the Frosting:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Blend 3/4 cup butter and 1 cup of sugar.
  • Add 1 egg, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon of almond extract and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
  • Add 2 1/4 cup of flour.
  • Roll out the cookies, cut them out, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Frost with your favorite frosting, or use my mom's recipe.

For the Frosting:

  • MIx 2 cups of powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of milk.
  • Add in 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract and a couple of drops of food coloring of your choice.
  • You may need to add more powedered sugar or more milk, until the frosting is at your desired consistency.
  • Frost.
