My Favorite Playlist for Running on the Treadmill

Having trouble finishing your workout? Here’s a motivating playlist to get you through it with a smile on your face -every single time!

Do you find it hard to finish a run?  Or even get motivated to run?

Maybe you hate working out, but you know you need to…

Yep, I know.  I hear ya.  Me too.

But here’s a little tip:  listen to Christian Rock.

🤣😂  I know, I know, but hear me out!

I discovered Christian rock by accident.  My stepmom had given me a bunch of her music.  I don’t remember how, but I think some of it got on my mp3 player.  (Yes, that’s how old I am… I remember running with a Walkman in hand when I was a teenager!  😂 🤣 )

And I think I accidentally went for a run with it one day.

And discovered that it was extremely motivating!  It was easier to finish my run that day.

When you are listening to someone tell you how special you are, how amazing you are, and how much God loves you, over and over again, while you are struggling to finish a run…well, you feel like you can do anything!  And that run becomes much easier.

That was years ago.

Since then, I graduated to an iPhone.  😆

At first, I just downloaded all that music on my phone.  But, when I upped my data, I stopped downloading music.  Now I just stream it.

So, when I’m running outside, I listen to Pandora.  Just type in Christian Rock or Christian Work Out Music.  I actually use a few different stations like that and just shuffle them all.

When I’m running on the treadmill, I watch Christian music videos.

Here’s my favorite:

I couldn’t get it to embed so that you can just play it from right here for some reason. Sorry! Just click on the image, or the caption below it, or here: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=RDCLAK5uy_lAdFUydkUjnwPrJeth2pceCcysq8OQT2E&feature=share&playnext=1

I’m an emotional runner. I run faster when I LOVE a song.  And when the tempo has increased. And I run slower when the song doesn’t speak to me.  Or if it’s a slow song.

I love the slower songs on my long runs because I need to slow down.  But the songs that really speak to me, or are super-fast, get me moving!!  I can easily finish my run.

In fact, I’ve been known to run an extra mile or two, simply because I was enjoying the music so much!  🤣😂

You don’t have to be a Christian to run or workout to Christian music.

I’ve always been a Christian, but my relationship with God never dictated my life or how I lived my day (until last year).  I never read the bible, and only occasionally went to church.  I didn’t have a serious relationship with God.

I only listened to Christian music – at first – while I ran. Because it was so stinking motivating.  It truly made me feel like I could do anything!

But soon, I was listening to Christian music while I cleaned the house.  While I blogged. And whenever I was alone in the car.

And any time I needed a pick-me-up.

Now, it’s my go-to.  I listen to it any time I put music on.  Except when my big boys or husband are around.  😂🤣  They don’t appreciate it the way I do, and I have no need to torture them.  😁

If you are struggling to finish your workout, give it a try!  It just might make you feel like you can accomplish anything – especially that workout.

At the end of the day….

my favorite running playlist

At the end of the day, momma, it’s about using whatever music moves you and inspires you.

Christian music keeps me motivated and focused on the positive.  It makes me feel like I can accomplish anything.  I have finished many half-marathons listening to Christian music!

My Son & I After a Half Marathon

One time, I forgot my earbuds.  🤦🏻‍♀️  I can’t run without music, so I just had to play it through my phone.  And I had people around me thanking me for the music!  Apparently, they found it motivating too.

But it may not be for everybody!

So, give it a try.  If it doesn’t move you, don’t feel bad!  Look for something that does.

Just finish that workout!!
