Are you wondering how to create a routine for your daily blogging tasks? There is so much to do! And it all seems so important! How do you know what should be the most important, what needs to get done first, and what can wait for another day?
And how do you create a daily blogging routine that will be the most productive and effective?

Yeah, I struggled with that too. For many years. I thought there must be some secret that all of the big-time bloggers do.
Turns out, there is. 🤣 🤣
There are set blogging tasks that successful bloggers do every day – or every week. I learned this after taking Elna Cain’s Ready Set Blog for Traffic course. (Seriously, if you haven’t boughten the course yet….what are you waiting for?!?)
I don’t want you to bounce around like a crazed little ping-pong ball, so I’m going to share my daily blogging routine with you. I created it after taking Elna’s course, and it’s working!!
Create a system for your daily blogging tasks
In a nutshell, here is what I do every week, and why.
Mondays
My mornings are spent on client work. I pitch for an hour every morning, followed by writing my clients’ blog posts. If I’m all caught up on client posts, I work on a guest post.
Contributing to other people’s blogs helps you get backlinks to yours, moving you up in Google rankings.
Monday afternoons are spent working on the week’s blog post outlines. I have three blogs, so I outline each post and do the research for it. I also do my keyword research. (another side note: I use and LOVE Key Search for this, and if you choose to purchase Key Search, please use my code – KSDISC – for 20% off!!)
I do this for one old post on Making Mommas as well because I am slowly trying to update those old posts. My goal is one a week.
And I do it for all of my client posts. It’s a lot.
Monday evening, if I have time, I send an email out to my list, create three new pins, and manually pin my newest pins to relevant boards. I follow Elna Cain’s pin strategy for this. (I tried to find the link so you could print out her strategy but couldn’t.)
Tuesdays
I love Tuesdays. Tuesdays are the days that I finally get to work on my blog posts!! It always seems like all I’m doing is client work and social media. 😁
The morning is the same as Monday. In fact, it is like that Monday through Thursday. I pitch and then work on client work. If I have none, I work on a guest post.
Tuesday afternoon I write my blog post for Making Mommas. I’ve already done the research and the outline, so writing goes quickly.
Tuesday evening, if I have time, I send out an email, create three new pins, and pin from my blogs five times, to relevant boards.
Wednesdays
Wednesday morning, of course, is client work and pitching. And then Wednesday afternoon is spent working on my blog post.
Wednesday evening is spent emailing my list, creating three pins, and repining the pins that my followers have pinned.
Are you starting to see a pattern here?
Thursdays
Thursday mornings are spent the same as every other morning, pitching and working on client work. Thursday afternoons are spent the same as every other afternoon, except I’m 🤞🏻 creating the graphics for my post and scheduling it for publishing.
And Thursday evenings are spent the same as every other evening, emailing my list and creating new pins.
The biggest thing I learned in Elna’s course is that you have to create a blogging schedule and stick to it, week after week after week.
Decide what your daily blogging tasks will be and then do them, respectively, day in and day out.
Fridays
Fridays are different.
I used to spend Friday’s planning and scheduling my Facebook posts for the week ahead. I had a love-hate relationship with Facebook. It drove very little traffic to my site, consumed a lot of my time, and yet…I still felt compelled to do it. 🤷🏻♀️
And then, if I didn’t do it, my whole week was off because I was trying to get caught up on Monday and do it.
I finally canned Facebook. But if you still use it, you may want to dedicate a morning each week to scheduling and planning posts.
I also spend Fridays scheduling my Tailwind Que. I use Tailwind to pin my pins to my boards every day so that I don’t have to manually do that. It’s time-consuming, to schedule all of those pins for three blogs, but I’ve seen a huge spike in traffic in just one month of doing it!
I took Elna Cain’s Pinterest Masterclass and am following her strategy. It works!
If I get all of that done and still have time, I work on updating a blog post for Making Mommas.
Saturdays
And that’s it! That is what I do, every day of the week. Saturdays are spent getting caught up on whatever I fell behind on. Because if I don’t strictly stick to this schedule, I WILL fall behind on something.
And then it sets the whole next week up for failure.
Using this process has helped me to focus on the daily blogging tasks that will drive traffic to my site. It helps me to stay consistent with my three priorities: publishing a weekly blog post, updating an old one, and staying active on Pinterest.
At the end of the day…
At the end of the day, momma, it’s all about being as productive as we can, with little ones under tow! 😆. And it isn’t easy!!
So, go with the flow. Do what you can, when you can. And then just try again tomorrow. We blog so that we can help support our families. This allows us to stay home with our babies.
And our babies are our priority. Never forget that. 😉
Update: my daily schedule does change, as my focus changes. For instance, as of this update, I’m focusing on updating my entire website – blog posts, freebies, and pages. So I am not publishing any new blog posts, pinning very much, or emailing my list. Right now. But when I get my site updated, my priority will change again, and so will my schedule.
Your turn! Create your daily blogging schedule and then post it in the comments below! I’d love to see it!
